Review of Lenovo Ideapad 320E 80XL0376IN 15.6-inch Laptop (7th Gen Core i5-7200U/4GB/1TB/FreeDOS/2GB Graphics), Onyx Black

Raised expectations but failed miserably on many fronts. And stay away from Appario, Bad Seller.

About Seller: Had very bad shopping experience with Seller Appario. I bought Logitech wireless keyboard mouse combo and this Laptop, both of these were old July 2017 models.
I replaced laptop first time and while replacement I clearly stated that I don’t want a laptop which was there in warehouse eating dust for last 10-11 months but still they sent me same old July 2017 model again. Finally, Amazon declined to replace the laptop with latest 2018 model and they offered me refund, had no other option but to accept my refund. At least money is safe and I can spend it on other laptop and this time not from Appario.

Warranty : As laptop was manufactured in July 2017 so warranty was counted from the day of shipping from China to India. And because of that warranty period of the laptop was showing just 107 days. I contacted Lenovo and Amazon regarding that and they offered me to extend the warranty. But at the end of the day, old product is an old product.

Specs: it had the price of 34999/- on Summer Sale days which is a really nice deal but if only if you are getting a fresh unit of 2018 make which was not the case in both instances. So disappointing scenario.
4 GB Ram is good enough for day to day tasks but if you want to play a game or want to use it as a development machine for Android and Unity and software like Blender then upgrading it to least 8 GB is advisable.

Build Quality: Poor.
The bezel of the screen is very thin and there is a visible gap which makes it look like cheap and prone to physical damage.
Actually, entire body shell is very fragile, the plastic used for the body is ok for visibly low quality and one needs to take care while using it.
One drop and there goes your laptop. Your laptop be like, Mr. Admin, I don’t feel so good.
Keyboard: Keyboard seemed Ok. There is no noticeable flex to it, so good enough for small typing session but don’t expect it to handle the abuse of Gamers.

Touchpad: Very bad. There is no separate left-right click button. Both buttons are attached to the single body of the touchpad, and anyone who has used it might agree to the fact that it’s not a very pleasant experience. One more, when you press either left or right click then touchpad goes down like 3-5 mm. This gap is big enough for a big chunk of rice or metal piece of the same size to slip inside the body. Not great if you ask me. If you are thinking about buying this laptop for day to day use then do consider buying external mouse too.

Screen: Screen was nice. Nothing exceptional about it though. It is not reflective of many others which is a good thing. It’s not full HD screen.

Sound: Bad. Very low. If you are planning to watch a movie on it and expect it to produce a sound loud enough to feel the room then you will be disappointed. To be honest my mobile is loud and clear than this laptop.

Driver Issues: I installed Windows 10 and all the drivers provided on official site worked fine. Some people are complaining about WiFi and touchpad but they worked just fine in my case.

IO port: 2 USB 3, one USB type c, HDMI, LAN port, audio jack, you get it all. So they did a good job in this department at least.

Final Verdict: If you are a kind of user who handles his/her laptop like the newborn baby and not a heavy user like fanatic programmer spending entire night coding or a gamer who loves slamming keyboard at the same time requiring it to play AAA titles with high FPS on high settings then it is for you.
Else, just stay away. HP and Dell have better overall build Quality but in terms of specs, they are little behind Lenovo. But for durability spending, an extra couple of thousand rs is not the that bad idea.
